How Does Insurance Work?
To determine if you have mental health coverage, the first thing you should do is check with your insurance carrier. Although I don't participate with any insurance companies, I've found that some do provide as much as 50% - 80% reimbursement for out of network services. Check your coverage carefully and find the answers to the following questions:

How many therapy sessions does my plan cover?

How much does my insurance pay for an out-of-network provider?

Is approval required from my primary care physician?
Rates
Individuals $110 (50 minute session)
$ 75 (30 minute session)
Couples & Families $135 (50-60 minute session)
$190 (90 minute session)

Insurance
I have chosen not to work directly with insurance companies for the following reasons:

Insurance companies require clinicians to assign a mental health diagnosis in order to cover the cost of therapy. Many people who seek counseling are interested in learning new skills and strategies to improve their lives, and do not necessarily have a mental health diagnosis. I prefer not to be forced to provide one when we believe none exists.

Many insurance companies place restrictions on the types of services they cover. For example, many insurance companies do not cover marriage or family counseling.

Insurance companies may place restrictions on the course and duration of treatment. This restricts my ability to prescribe the treatment plan I believe will be most beneficial for you.

If you would like to file for insurance reimbursement, I will provide statements for you to submit.

Reduced Fee
Reduced fee services are available on a limited basis.

Payment
Cash, checks, VISA, Mastercard, Discover, and Venmo are accepted for payment.

Cancellation Policy
If you miss your scheduled appointment without giving 24 hours notice, you will be charged an $85 cancellation fee.
